Weather Report

Weather Report from Dallas Hudgens on Vimeo.

This project was to develop a motion piece for a futuristic weather report for 4 cities during a 3 day weekend. We used the LATCH concept for organizing information (Location, Alphabet, Time, Category, Hierarchy). There are 3 parts to the video, and each part emphasizes one of the LATCH systems. I chose to emphasize Hierarchy, Time, then Alphabet.

Playful - Type in Motion

Playful - Type in Motion from Dallas Hudgens on Vimeo.

The goal for this project was to animate a word to show its meaning. We were given a time limit of 5 seconds. This project was also to familiarize ourselves with After Effects. I chose to animate playful in a slinky motion, like the childhood toy.

Image Analysis

In this project, we were to find an image and highlight the historical graphic design movements that influenced the image. I chose the BBDO Minneapolis 80th Anniversary party poster. I chose a flash piece because I wanted the user to interact with the information so the user would feel more connected to the piece.

Flash Representation of Symbols

This is an interactive assignment that displays some of the symbols I created in a previous assignment. The object of the assignment was to demonstrate a knowledge of flash while displaying the methodology of the creation of our final symbol. My concept was to mimic the space theme of my symbols. The symbols fly in at different directions like objects floating in space. Once you click the space green button, the following symbols are the iterations of the previous symbol, which come out in an asteroid like pattern, ending in the final symbol.

WebInterface

These web interface designs were created to display our critical mass images. I created mine to relate to my theme of envy.
